Who wants to be reminded of a relationship that went bad - or
anything that went wrong for that matter? 

Tattoos are supposed to
make you happy and feel good, not remind you of past mistakes.

So my personal opinion is this:

If you are getting a memorial tattoo this is something totally different, so I say yes to memorial tattoos.

If you are madly in love with a person, I don't care who it is or for how long you have been together, I say NO.....

Children, Parents, Grandparents,  these are the exception to the rule in my opinion.

Your Parents are always going to be your parents, you children always your children, etc.  But a spouse, significant other, lover, etc....well, take it from someone who has been there and done that...may not last the rest of your life.  And while they maybe able to be covered up, cover-ups are not easily done, depending on the lettering style, size, colors, placement, and more.  In the mean time after the break-up, the people you date, and get serious with hate seeing someone's name everyday as a constant reminder...I have been married for 24 years, and NO I would not put my husband's name on my body...He could be gone a minute from now.
